Selma Kadi gave a presentation titled ‘What contributes to ageing well? Perspective of older adults in Austria, Canada and Sweden’ co-authored by Erika Augustsson, Ricardo Rodrigues and Janet Jull at the European Sociological Association’s conference ‘Sociological Knowledges for Alternative Futures’ on 1 September 2021. The presentation reports first results from the qualitative study in FutureGen. It is based on the analysis of 60 semi-structured interviews with older women and men and describes their perspectives on ageing well through four different themes: ageing well as a multidimensional and participatory process, health and wellbeing, disability and support for ageing well. The presentation was part of a session on wellbeing hosted by Research Network 01 (Ageing in Europe) facilitated by Marja Aartsen from Oslo Metropolitan University.
